Jean-Grey Marie Irvin was born on August 16, 2018, in Baker City, Oregon, to Christopher and Kayla-Jean Kinney Irvin. She was born during an unexpected thunderstorm, a fitting sign of the impact she would have during her time with us.
Jean was a second grader in Pence Elementary in Fairfield where she was the May “Trojan Trait Superstar”. From an early age it was obvious that Jean was wise beyond her years. She spent her days thinking of how to help other people. She made sure that everyone around her felt included, important, and loved.
She had dreams of being a firefighter because she knew that they helped people. And she had decided that when she wasn’t busy at work helping people, she would do ballet. Jean loved the colors pink and purple and took every chance she had to explore the outdoors. She was a loving daughter, granddaughter, and little sister who found a friend in everyone she met.
Though her time with us was far too brief, her impact was profound, her legacy was kindness, her lesson was love, and the world is a better place because she was in it.
Jean was preceded in death by her maternal grandmother, Teresa Kinney.
Left to share her story are her loving parents, Chris and Kayla Irvin; her sister, Krista Irvin; paternal grandparents, Nathan Irvin and Tamie Roswell; maternal grandfather, Robert Browning, as well as many extended family, and many, many friends.
