Ava Eleanor Ford, 17, of Packwood, IA passed away on Thursday, May 29, 2025, from injuries sustained in an automobile accident. A memorial service to celebrate and remember Ava will begin at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 21, 2025, at the Cranston Family Funeral Home in Fairfield, IA. Memorial contributions in Ava's honor may be directed to the family and mailed to P.O. Box 802, Packwood, IA 52580. Ava Eleanor Ford was Born on June 26, 2007, in Iowa City, IA. She was the cherished daughter of Robert and Nicole Chandler Ford. Ava learned the meaning of love, respect, and the importance of family connections early in life. She began her education in Libertyville, IA before completing her schooling with the Pekin Community School District, graduating with the class of 2025. There, she was involved in track and cross-country and recently discovered a new passion for woodworking, showcasing her creative side and dedication to learning new skills. Ava's sense of duty and her desire to aid those in their time of need led her to enlist in the United States Army. Scheduled to enter in August, her dream was to become a Combat Field Medic and proudly serve her country. She was employed at Subway in Fairfield, where she enjoyed interacting with her customers and coworkers. Ava cherished the simple moments, such as watching her nephews play and caring for her grandmother's dogs, with whom she shared countless walks in the woods. In her free time, she enjoyed getting lost in the pages of a good book, singing to one of her favorite songs, or sitting down for a good movie with her family. Ava's personality was quiet yet impactful. Her faith was the cornerstone of her existence, providing her confidence to rise above life's challenges. She was an active member of the Fairfield Foursquare Church, where her love for Jesus was a blessing that she shared with those around her. To quote the renowned American poet, Robert Frost, "In three words I can sum up everything I've learned about life: it goes on." Ava's life, though brief, was a testament to living fully, loving deeply, and embracing faith with open arms. Ava Eleanor Ford's legacy will continue to inspire and influence all who had the privilege of knowing and loving her. Her memory will be forever cherished. Ava was preceded in death by her grandfather, James Ford. Left to share her story are her parents, Robert and Nicole Ford of Packwood, IA; six siblings, Breana (Curtis) Hardman, Britney Campbell (Clayton LaPoint), Christopher (Katelyn) Ehret, Austin White (Amanda), Trinity (Shamas) Ealy, and Benjamin Ehret; her grandparents, Linda Ford, Virgil (Martha) Chandler, and Dave (Cindy) White, as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
