Anna M. (Stoneking) Wixom Obituary (1944

Anna M. Wixom, 70, of Bonaparte died Tuesday evening December 1, 2015 in the emergency room of Van Buren County Hospital, Keosauqua. She was born December 9, 1944 in Moline, IL to Jennings and Ruth Downing Stoneking and married Ronald G. Wixom May 2, 1993 in Bonaparte. Anna grew up in Macomb, IL and West Burlington and attended school in West Burlington. She spent most of her adult life in Keosauqua and Bonaparte, had worked at the Ammunitions Plant, Burlington, Leigh Leapolds, Burlington, Country Fun in Illinois, Corry Machine & Tool, Bonaparte and most recently as a waitress at Pratts and as an inspector at Riverside Plastics both in Bonaparte. Anna had attended Bonaparte United Church, was a great supporter of the Bonaparte Fire Department, and enjoyed gambling, especially penny and nickel slots, watching softball games and the St. Louis Cardinals. She had many hobbies including all kinds of crafts and setting up at flea markets and going to yard sales. Her birds, squirrels, deer and flowers brought her great joy, no one was ever allowed to harm any of them, but most of all she enjoyed her family. Surviving are her husband, a daughter, Ruth Teeter of Bonaparte, two sons, Rusty Miller (Rachael) of Lockridge and Rich Miller (Carrie) of Bonaparte, 13 grandchildren, four great-granddaughters, a sister, Sharon Crane of Davenport, several nieces and nephews and many friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, Henry Stoneking, two sisters, Mary Jane Stoneking and Betty Jean Foster and a son-in-law, Rob Teeter. Funeral service will be at 2:00 P.M. Friday December 4, 2015 at Pedrick Funeral Home, Keosauqua with Fire Department Chaplin, Doc K. Patterson officiating. Visitation with family present will be 4-6 P.M. Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will be Bonaparte Cemetery. Memorials to Bonaparte Fire Department or Bonaparte First Responders may be left at the funeral home or mailed to the family at 30011 250th Street, Bonaparte, IA 52620
