Nicky Nick Charles Holt Sr., 65, of Eldon, IA passed away Thursday, November 2, 2017 at his home in Eldon. Nicky Charles Holt Sr. was born September 29, 1952 in Illinois to Charles and Pauline Cook Holt. His early years were spent in Illinois before moving with his family to Des Moines, IA. His path eventually took him to Fairfield, IA were he met and married Betty Fern. They resided in Fairfield until her passing. As his health started to decline he moved to Eldon to be closer to family who could help with his needs. Nick was an avid fisherman, enjoyed watching black and white western movies, and listening to Elvis. Nick was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Becky Sue Holt and two twin sons in infancy. Left to share his story are his three children, Nicky Charles Holt Jr. (Rebecca Campbell), Connie Mellott, and Tammy Holderbaum. He is also survived by three nephews, Mike (Jackie) Kalar, Blue Jay Kalar, and Chuck (Becky) Kalar, as well as several grandchildren and extended family.
