Katheryn Davis Obituary (1921

Fairfield Katheryn D. Davis, age 95 of Fairfield died Friday, January 6, 2017 at Parkview Care Center in Fairfield. She was born May 6, 1921 in Fairfield, the daughter of Albert Douglas and Clarian E. Wolett Armstrong. A lifetime resident of the Fairfield community, she attended Center # 5 and graduated from Fairfield High School in 1938. Katheryn married Melvin F. Davis on July 19, 1949 at the chapel at the First Methodist Church in Fairfield. She worked as a bookkeeper for 50 years for several businesses in Fairfield, retiring in 1991 from the Jefferson County Recorder''s office. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, the Debra Circle, D.A.R., Fairfield Weakenders and several card clubs. She was preceded in death by her husband on March 28, 2003 and her parents. Surviving is her son Roger E. Davis of Ankeny, Iowa. Funeral services will be 1:30 P.M. Wednesday, January 11, 2017 at the First United Methodist Church in Fairfield with Pastor Todd Holman officiating. Burial will be in the Evergreen Cemetery in Fairfield. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 12:30 until 1:30 P.M. at the church, one hour prior to the funeral. Memorials may be directed to the First United Methodist Church in Fairfield. The Raymond Funeral Home in Fairfield is assisting the family with the arrangements.
