Flaurice Whitham Obituary (1922

Flaurice L. "Flossie" Whitham age 86 formerly of Fairfield died Saturday evening At Ramsey Village in Des Moines. Born August 9, 1922 at Webster, Iowa, she was the daughter of Lewis Clarence "Clair" and Hazel Moore Dersch. She grew up in the Webster community. She attended beauty school in Ottumwa. She married Roll Roy Whitham on March 29, 1941 in Fairfield. They lived their entire married life in the Fairfield community. Flossie was a member of the First United Methodist Church , the Mapleleaf Club and the Farm Bureau. Deceased family members include her husband on October 31, 1981, an infant son Allen Lee Whitham and her parents. Surviving are her 3 children: Kenneth R. ( Karen) Whitham of Fairfield; Caroline "Cid'''' (Duke) Schmidt of Fairfield and Donald R. Whitham of Des Moines, 7 grandchildren and several great grandchildren. Funeral services are scheduled for 2:30 P.M. Tuesday at the Raymond Funeral Home in Fairfield with Reverend Mike Metz officiating. Interment will be in Evergreen Cemetery in Fairfield. Friends may call at their convenience to pay the respects. Memorials have been established to the Hospice of Central Iowa or to the First United Methodist Church. Arrangements are in the care of the Raymond Funeral Home in Fairfield.
